Bec Nicholls

Mum, Farmer’s Wife, Proud Director of Fig&Co

My entire life has been spent living and working in regional Australia – farmer, grain tester, jillaroo, vet nurse, you name it, I’ve done it. But I’ve always secretly wanted to own and run a small business of my own.

I am a mum to three gorgeous little kids and shortly after bub number three arrived, I was searching for something I could do that was compatible with mum life, flexible enough to work around a busy farm schedule, and that I was passionate about.

A trip into town searching for a gift for my sister was my lightbulb moment. I needed something that was practical to post, I was thinking a cookbook (Nicole, my sister, lives in Melbourne). Sadly nothing, so I went home gift-less. I can remember so clearly sitting at our kitchen table whinging to my very patient husband about the experience I had just had, and in that moment I said I can whinge about this or do something about it.

So in early 2020 Fig&Co was born.

Since then I have been proudly growing this little shop in Gundagai – we love supporting and celebrating local producers and makers wherever we can, we stock a big range of Australian-made products, and are home to beautiful artworks by a range of talented Australian artists. Our shelves are ever-changing and I have been so privileged to meet and support a huge number of talented women – many of them running small businesses of their own.

Welcome to Fig&Co where I hope if you visit you will find a little something you love, and will always find something you can post!
